- Legal & regulatory: verified against CFTC orders, no-action letters, and enforcement actions (cftc.gov); federal and Texas court rulings via PACER and CourtListener; and the Texas Penal Code and Attorney General opinions.
- Platform mechanics: fees, eligibility, restricted states, KYC requirements, and payout rules are verified directly against Kalshi, Polymarket, and Crypto.com official help centers and Terms of Service.
- Tax guidance: cross-referenced with IRS Publication 550, Form 1099-MISC / 1099-B instructions, and current IRS guidance on event-contract income.
- Weather & sports data: sourced from NOAA, the National Hurricane Center, ERCOT, and official league statistics.
