San Antonio Prediction Markets: Spurs & Weather Guide

San Antonio prediction markets can ask very different questions: a Spurs championship, a Wembanyama award, a UTSA game or a daily temperature range. Start with the exact outcome and settlement rules before comparing prices.

The short answer

  • A team championship and an individual award are separate outcomes. One does not automatically settle the other.
  • In the standard $1 binary examples below, Yes pays $1 per contract when the specified condition is met and $0 when it is not. Special settlement provisions may differ.[1]
  • A 20¢ price implies a market estimate around 20%, not a promise or a demonstrated win rate.[1]
  • Weather questions require the correct measurement, location, date and reporting source.
  • Kalshi's signup guidance states 18 or older, with verification and eligibility requirements. That age rule is operator-specific.[2]

Start with our prediction markets beginner guide if you are new to event contracts.

Can you trade prediction markets in San Antonio?

The CFTC register lists Kalshi and QCX LLC, doing business as Polymarket US, as designated contract markets.[3] That establishes exchange registration, not every product's current Texas availability or an individual's eligibility.

Read the operator's current terms for the exact product. Kalshi's guidance places responsibility on users to ensure their access is lawful.[2] Do not assume a US platform and an international product have the same access rules.

San Antonio questions at a glance

This table is a research checklist, not a claim that every market is currently offered.

TopicQuestion to look forWhat to verify
SpursGame result, playoff qualification or championshipSeason, outcome definition and resolution source
Wembanyama awardsA named season's MVP or defensive awardExact award, eligibility and announcement source
UTSA footballA game result or conference outcomeOpponent, date, overtime and cancellation rules
San Antonio weatherDaily high or low temperatureMeasurement, report, location, units and date
Texas politicsA defined election outcomeJurisdiction, election stage, deadline and named source

Check whether the specific contract is open. An old outcome on a topic page is not a new season's available market.

San Antonio snapshot: September 24, 2026

Spurs: San Antonio lost the 2026 NBA Finals to New York in five games.[4]

Wembanyama: He won the 2025-26 Defensive Player of the Year award.[5] The Spurs announced a multi-year extension in July.[6]

UTSA: The Roadrunners are 2-1 after a 30-6 loss at Texas. The official schedule lists Colorado State at the Alamodome on September 26 at 11 a.m. Central.[7]

These are dated sports facts, not live odds or a promise that a particular operator lists the corresponding market.

Spurs prediction markets

Spurs championship odds answer a different question from making the playoffs or winning one game. Check that the contract names the season you intend to evaluate, especially when a page contains old and upcoming events.

Worked example: a championship contract

Hypothetical price, not a live quote. Normal $1 binary settlement; fees excluded.

Suppose "Spurs win the 2026-27 championship" costs 20¢ per Yes contract.

ItemAmount
Buy 25 Yes contracts at $0.20$5 cost
Outcome resolves Yes$25 payout; $20 profit before fees
Outcome resolves No$0 payout; $5 loss before fees

The $25 payout includes the $5 purchase cost. Applicable fees reduce the net result.[8]

A 20¢ price does not establish that a trade will lose exactly four times out of five. It is a market-implied estimate, not a guaranteed frequency. Injuries, roster changes and new information may change prices during the season; the final result still depends on the question and rules.

Use the Spurs official site for team news, then read the exchange's actual contract separately.

Wembanyama MVP odds and award questions

The phrase "Wembanyama contract" can mean either his employment agreement with the team or an event contract about an outcome. They are different things. An employment extension does not itself resolve a championship or award question.

When evaluating Wembanyama MVP odds, confirm the named season and award. Regular-season MVP, Finals MVP and Defensive Player of the Year are different honors. Check eligibility, the named announcement source, ties and any special settlement provisions.

A team title and an individual award are separate questions

Hypothetical contract definitions and normal $1 binary settlement. No current listing is asserted.

Hypothetical outcomeSpurs title Yes paysWembanyama regular-season MVP Yes pays
Spurs win title; Wembanyama wins MVP$1$1
Spurs win title; another player wins MVP$1$0
Another team wins title; Wembanyama wins MVP$0$1
Another team wins title; another player wins MVP$0$0

These questions are not opposite sides of one binary contract. Both can resolve Yes, or both can resolve No, under the assumed definitions.

Worked example: an award contract

If 20 hypothetical Yes contracts cost 25¢ each, the purchase costs $5. A normal Yes settlement pays $20, leaving $15 profit before fees. A No settlement loses the $5 cost, plus any fees.

Inspect the actual buy and sell prices and available order size. Do not assume an award market is less active than a team market without checking. A sale before settlement depends on an executable order and may realize a loss; neither a quick exit nor a particular exit price is guaranteed.

UTSA prediction markets

Use the official UTSA schedule to confirm the next opponent and venue. Then check whether a platform currently offers the precise game or conference question you want to research. The presence of a game on UTSA's schedule does not prove exchange availability.

Read how the actual contract handles postponement, cancellation and overtime. A conference-title question is not interchangeable with a single-game result.

San Antonio weather prediction markets

The researched Kalshi September 23 daily-high listing identifies San Antonio (CLISAT) and The Weather Company. A separate daily-low listing uses the minimum temperature.[9][10] That distinction matters even when both pages use the same city and date.

Read the measurement, location, source, date, rounding and correction policy in the current contract. A forecast is a research input, not automatically the final observation that settles the market. Another neighborhood's reading cannot replace the report named in the rules.

Worked example: daily high versus daily low

Hypothetical readings and range, not a forecast or a live market.

Assume a contract asks whether the specified daily high is 97–98°F. If the named report records a high of 98°F and a low of 74°F, the high qualifies in this example. The 74°F low answers a different question.

A weather listing may include special provisions for missing data. Do not assume every possible settlement must be a simple $1 or $0.[9][10]

Compare platforms and costs

Use our platform comparison to review product types, eligibility and fees. Confirm the exact San Antonio-related contract exists on the intended US product before following a commercial link.

Kalshi's signup minimum is 18, subject to its verification and eligibility requirements.[2] Other platforms require separate checks. Read the applicable fee schedule and order preview before comparing the net result with any example.[8]

San Antonio and Texas politics

An election question must specify its jurisdiction and stage. A primary, runoff and general election are different events, and the named source and resolution deadline may differ. Check official ballot information and the exact contract instead of relying on an old candidate list.

FAQ

Are prediction markets legal in San Antonio? Kalshi and Polymarket US appear on the CFTC's DCM register. That does not establish every product's Texas availability or every person's eligibility. Check current operator terms and our Texas legal guide.[2][3]

Does a 20¢ price guarantee a 20% chance of winning? No. It can be read as a market-implied estimate for a standard $1 binary contract, not a guaranteed probability or demonstrated win rate.[1]

Does a Spurs title settle a Wembanyama MVP contract? Not by itself. Team championships and individual awards are distinct outcomes. Read the exact award, season and resolution rules.

Does Wembanyama's employment agreement determine an event contract's payout? Only if the event contract specifically asks about that agreement. A title or award contract instead follows its own named outcome and settlement rules.

Are award markets always less active than team markets? Do not assume that. Inspect the actual buy and sell prices, available order size and trading activity for each contract.

Can I sell before settlement? A sale requires an executable counterparty order under the platform's rules. The available price may differ from your entry price, and fees or a loss may apply.

Do daily-high and daily-low weather markets use the same result? No. They ask about different measurements. Match the exact contract to the named report, location and date.[9][10]

How old do you have to be to use Kalshi? Kalshi's individual signup guidance states 18 or older, subject to verification and eligibility requirements. That does not establish the age requirement for other operators.[2]

Trading risk

Kalshi: 18+. Eligibility restrictions apply. Trading can lose your full entry cost, including fees. Consider whether it suits your financial circumstances. This guide is educational, not a trade recommendation.[2][9]
